THE BACTERIA Studies have shown that the chemicals dioxin and chlorine are cancerous when they come in contact with the human skin and more especially the tender part at the woman’s genitals. Obviously not immediately, but the cancerous effects may be cumulative. Because paper cannot absorb the woman’s flow during her cycle, a plastic paper is placed in between or under the pad for fear of leakage when a woman is bleeding. This plastic placed in between the pad prevents circulation of air in the woman’s system. In other words, as the woman is having her flow wearing a traditional pad, no air enters the woman’s system and because of this, warmth develops between the pad and her vaginal area, with the moisture from the blood this area becomes a breeding ground for germs, fermentation takes place; hence, the reason the pads may have unpleasant scent when removed after use.
THE PESTICIDES: Conventional tampons contain pesticides: a whopping $2 billion is spent annually on pesticides to spray cotton crops.
THE CHEMICALS Tampons and pads with odor neutralizers and artificial fragrances are virtually a chemical soup, laced with artificial colors, polyester, adhesives, polyethylene (PET), polypropylene and propylene glycol (PEG), contaminants linked to hormone disruption, cancer, birth defects, dryness and infertility. Tampons and pads with odor neutralizers and artificial fragrances are virtually a chemical soup, laced with artificial colors, polyester, adhesives, polyethylene (PET), polypropylene and propylene glycol (PEG), contaminants linked to hormone disruption, cancer, birth defects, dryness and infertility.Investigations have since proved that most menstrual sanitary pads available on the market are produced from recycled paper materials containing print ink and other chemicals which are later bleached with harmful chemicals like dioxin and chlorine.
THE GERMS A World Health Organization report indicates that within two hours of a woman putting on traditional pads, about 107 different germs develop per cubic centimeter on the surface area of the pad. When pressure is applied on the pad through sitting, because paper is not absorbent enough, the pad allows a “back flow” of the blood into the woman’s reproductive system with all the germs that may have developed and the chemicals mixed with the blood possibly causing infection to the woman’s reproductive system. Not knowing what to do nor what may be happening, the woman simply takes this as normal menstrual discomfort.
THE LONG TERM EXPOSURE Some of today’s most popular sanitary napkins have been found to emit chemicals, like styrene, chloroethane and chloroform. The World Health Organization classifies styrene as a carcinogen. And the EPA says short-term exposure to high concentrations of chloromethane can have neurological effects. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says high levels of exposure to chloroethane can result in lack of muscle coordination and unconsciousness.
WE ARE ON A GLOBAL MISSION TO SAVE LIVES.
Now We No is the campaign that is informing men and women all over the world about the harmful effects that some of today’s sanitary napkins and tampons may have on women’s bodies. It is the brainchild of Nspire Network’s founders and is consistent with the philosophy of being mission-driven people. The Now We No movement has partnered with women’s organizations and awareness groups to host 5k walks, bike rides, and basketball games to bring awareness to this potentially life-threatening issue.
Did you know that in the United States, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not require companies to list the ingredients contained in sanitary napkins and tampons, yet the average woman uses more than 15,000 sanitary napkins, or has a tampon inside of her, for more than 100,000 hours over her lifetime?
Nspire Network™ (www.nspirenetwork.com/itcherishing) is one of the fastest growing home-based projects in the world and is proud to offer Cherish Premium Sanitary Napkins to the world as a safer, more comfortable option than what is currently available on the market today. Nspire is committed to developing first-class nutritional and wellness products, while simultaneously creating an awareness and a mission that educates individuals to live healthier and more fulfilling lives.
